The 2007 TAFE SA Solar Car team
We need your help for the 2009 TAFE SA Solar Car team!

The Solar spirit of TAFE SA requires three groups of people to achieve all of the aims of the project.

1. The Solar Spirit R&D team
2. Solar Spirit of TAFE SA Business infrastructure development team
3. Kelly in the High School “Try Engineering” team

1. The Solar Spirit R&D team

• Design and build the aerodynamic body and chassis to the latest specifications
• Test and adapt the motors to the electric propulsion system
• Modify standard ABS to Regenerative Automatic Braking System
• Design and build a human interface to all the vehicle controls
• Telemetry and data processing installation, calibration and testing
• Research and purchase the best Solar cells for the Solar array
• Power management monitoring system

2. Solar Spirit of TAFE SA Business infrastructure development team

• Business development research for government and industry grants
• Design sponsorship packages
• Modify and continually update the solar car web site
• Promote the aims of The Solar Spirit of TAFESA project in all its forms
• Event manage the Solar Spirit and Kelly entry into the 2009 World Solar Challenge

3. Kelly in the High School “Try Engineering” team

• Set up a support volunteer network and keep all members informed of progress
• Arrange promotional tours using Kelly and the Electronics bus, working with Energy Education Australia see http://www.energy.edu.au
• Support the alliance with DATTA http://www.datta.sa.edu.au/ the current model solar car competition and assist them in engaging as many schools as possible. http://www.modelsolarchallenge.org,

Encourage all schools to take the competition a step further. Provide support by setting up a technical advisory panel on the TAFE web site

Encourage high school students to continue the development of their engineering passion via school based studies and enter TAFESA and Universities
